The Library at Elsinore is the title of an installation work by Tom Phillips which will be the centrepiece of an exhibition at Shandy Hall opening on 21st September 2008. Also included in the exhibition will be treated skulls, works on the theme of books and texts and six new pages from Tom Phillips’s treated book A Humument. Page 62 part 1


Tom Phillips selects Page 62 from his copy of A Human Document by W.H. Mallock. The page is stuck with Gloy paste onto a sheet of cartridge paper which has been very lightly dampened with a wrung out sponge. This is then stuck onto a board using brown gumstrip tape. This process slightly stretches the paper and prevents it buckling.
